Panasonic is proud to announce the BS1H, the brand new full-frame mirrorless camera from the LUMIX series. L mount lenses .
BS1H is a versatile camera that combines the cinematic video performance of the LUMIX S1H with the handling of box cameras. With the 24-megapixel full-frame sensor featuring Dual Native ISO technology, LUMIX BS1H exceeds all expectations: full-area recording in high resolution 6K, stunning bokeh effects, rendered in low light conditions, wide dynamic range of over 14 stops V -Log and much more. Thanks to its high connectivity and mobility, the user can flexibly configure BS1H in their camera system according to the scenario. The uniform appearance of images minimizes post-production needs when used in conjunction with other LUMIX cameras, such as the BGH1 mirrorless box camera or S1H full-frame camera.

Cinematic quality video
BS1H contains a 24.2 megapixel full frame CMOS sensor with a width of 35.6 mm x 23.8 mm capable of guaranteeing 6K resolution. With an active resolution of 6,024 x 4,016, BS1H provides approximately 24.2 million photosites. The optical low pass filter (OLPF) eliminates moire and other chromatic distortions while the image sensors with Dual Native ISO minimize noise by selecting the most suitable circuitry for each sensitivity even before gain processing. Working in synergy with the Venus Engine processor, which processes the signal optimally, it ensures maximum ISO 51200 high sensitivity shooting with minimal noise.

Taking full advantage of the use of pixels in the full-frame image sensor, the new LUMIX allows you to record smooth, high-resolution video in 6K / 24p, 5.4K / 30p (in 3: 2 format) or 5.9K / 30p (in 16: 9 format). Using the image area equivalent to the Super 35 mm it also allows you to shoot 10-bit 60p 4K / C4K1 1 HEVC videos. The 4: 2: 2 10-bit 4K30p format is full area recordable in H.264. High-resolution data is also useful for creating unsurpassed quality 4K videos or images. By "dynamic range" we mean the range of light intensity that the sensor of a digital camera is able to capture. That of the BS1H is equivalent to 14+ stops with V-Log and is substantially identical to that of Panasonic film cameras, in order to shoot scenes down to the smallest detail in any light condition.

Since the ability to reproduce even the smallest color nuances and all skin tones is essential for a filmmaker, the LUMIX BS1H inherits the colorimetry of the established professional VariCam cinema cameras, based on two curves fine-tuned to extend the dynamic range. And color space: V-Log and V-Gamut. The V-Log curve reproduces an extremely homogeneous image while maintaining all the color information contained within it, in order to ensure greater flexibility in post-production. On the other hand, the camera's CMOS sensor expands the gamut to an optimal color space known as "V-Gamut", which far exceeds the provisions of the BT.2020 standard. The properties of the V-Log curve are partly reminiscent of those of negatives, while V-Gamut enriches the color space compared to that of film.

In addition to supporting HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode, the camera records videos with a specific gamma curve compatible with the ITU-R BT.2100 recommendation and, from today, the user can select the Hybrid option from the Photo Style menu Log Gamma (HLG). And that's not all: BS1H is equipped with advanced learning technology for real-time subject detection, which allows you to set precise focus on the target subject - humans, but also animals - in fast motion.

A wide variety of recording formats
LUMIX BS1H has 4K 60p / 50p recording capability in 4: 2: 2 10-bit format with HDMI output. The new heat dispersion structure allows you to shoot practically without limits, supporting a wide range of formats (including the 4: 3 anamorphic mode) to meet the needs of professionals.

Thanks to the two alternatives for the RAW workflow it is equipped with, it allows you to better meet the most varied creative needs. 12-bit RAW [5.9K] / [4K] / [Anamorphic (4: 3) 3.5K] video data can be output to HDMI output to save Apple ProRes RAW to Atomos Ninja V or to save Blackmagic RAW to Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR.

With the VFR (Variable Frame Rate) option you can record overcranked / undercranked videos in C4K / 4K (60 fps, max.2.5 times slower in 24p) and FHD (180 fps, max. 7.5 times slower) slow in 24p) 2. The minimum framerate for quick motion videos is 2 fps. In addition, you can record video and audio in HFR (High Frame Rate) even with autofocus. Various effects are available in post-production to produce slow motion videos. LUMIX BS1H integrates a new heat dispersion structure that allows for nearly unlimited video recording capacity.
