Real-time tracking keeps the focus on subjects

During the detection of a fast moving subject, the camera's automatic motion sensor uses a sophisticated subject (AI) 14 detection algorithm based on color, pattern (gently), subject distance (depth) and information on the face / eye recognition to recognize and maintain focus on the subject.

Reliable Real Time Eye AF for impeccable portraits

The Real Time Eye AF system detects and automatically focuses the eyes of your subject when you press the shutter button in preview, and you can also choose whether to give priority to the right or left eye. When AF-C is set, it maintains stable focus even if the face is hidden, backlit or facing down.

Precise auto focus even in poor accuracy conditions

Extremely precise auto focus can be achieved even in low light environments thanks to the camera's sophisticated AF algorithm. High AF sensitivity ensures reliable AF-S autofocus under conditions up to EV-219.
