DeClick function

A brand new function of Loxia lenses is the possibility of disengaging the trigger mechanism of the diaphragm with the appropriate tool, by means of an adjustment screw on the surface of the bayonet. This allows, in the case of video applications, to balance an unexpected difference in brightness on the overview, with continuous adjustment. This function can also be used with other video systems suitable for adaptation thanks to their size.

Precision manual focus

Adjusting a lens manually means being able to control the photographic result with your fingertips: ergonomics are everything. The ZEISS lenses are convincing thanks to a large rotation angle, which allows precise focusing. The changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder. The high-quality focusing mechanism is smooth and play-free, therefore it supports intuitive play with the level of sharpness. The precise engraving in meters and feet, as well as the depth of field scale, offer further help in manual focusing.

Virtually distortion-free optics

Dramatic perspectives and a look from exceptional viewing angles - ZEISS lenses offer new creative possibilities. A distortion would ruin the composition, because straight lines that do not cross the center of the image would become the curve. This annoying effect is optimally balanced through demanding optical structures, with any focal distance. P>

High-quality metal structure

Tangible quality and high stability of the qualitative value are the ZEISS objectives for intensive use over many years. The all-metal structure, the fine workmanship, the handy focus ring and the metal opening, as well as the robust front bayonet and the filter thread offered extraordinary results. In addition, a special ring seal on the bayonet protects the interface between the camera and lens. P>

Immensely compatible

ZEISS Loxia lenses are suitable for use with Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras with E-mount and have been optimized for sensors up to the full 35mm (24 x 36mm) format. With ZEISS Loxia lenses, the aperture is manually preset to allow the DeClick function of the mechanical aperture ring. The cameras then selected automatic (A) and manual (M) exposure control. P>
