The R version (red ring) differs from the previous one (blue ring) for the number of shutter blades, which are 14: on the point lights the star effect therefore has 14 points and is less defined and distracting than the standard version.
At the same time, the out-of-focus areas in the background create a nice bokeh effect.
The maximum shift is ± 11mm, which makes it perfect for architectural and interior shots: the tallest skyscrapers can be captured by checking their perspective easily.

The widest decentralized optic in the world

15mm f / 4.5 Zero-D Shift is currently the widest full-frame shift lens on the market. The angle of view is 100 ° and the huge circle of coverage of 65mm diameter; it is even wider than the current Canon TS-E 17mm f / 4L Tilt-Shift.
The wider perspective allows photographers great flexibility for architectural and interior shots of limited size.
Decentralization ± 11mm
15mm f / 4.5 Zero-D Shift offers a maximum shift of ± 11mm allowing photographers to control perspective or expand the angle of view (thanks to stitching).

Wide circle of coverage
The gigantic circle of coverage allows not only a max shift of ± 11mm for full frame cameras, but also a max shift of ± 8mm in medium format cameras (eg Fujifilm GFX / Hasselblad X1D).
It is also currently the largest lens on the market with vignette-free Fujifilm GFX coverage.

ZERO Distortion
Laowa 15mmf / 4.5R Zero-D Shift is part of the Laowa ZERO Distortion series.
The optical design includes 2 aspherical elements and 3 elements for the reduction of dispersion, which successfully combine to reduce distortion to virtually zero, from one corner of the frame to the other.

Superior optical quality
The optical design consists of 17 optical elements in 11 groups, of which 2 are aspherical elements.
The surface coating was implemented obtaining a significant improvement in the control of chromatic aberrations, flare and ghost images.

Extremely close focusing distance
Laowa 15mm f / 4.5R Zero-D Shift is an ultra-wide lens that offers an extremely close focusing distance of just 20cm. This offers great versatility and flexibility in framing, allowing the creation of macro-like shots.

10-pointed star yield
Laowa 15mm f / 4.5R Zero-D Shift is designed with a 14-blade diaphragm, capable of creating a 14-pointed star effect on point lights.

360 ° rotation
The rotate function allows photographers to rotate the shift mechanism by changing its direction. The optic has a click-stop every 15 °.
This feature allows photographers to use shift in both landscape and portrait orientation.

New Shift Support
The new lens mount is compatible with both Laowa 20mm f / 4 Shift and 15mm f / 4.5 Shift. The outer rotating ring makes it easier to take panoramic shots. It is perfect for panoramic shots and to avoid parallax errors.
