Great images of a tiny world: ZEISS Milvus 2 / 50M can bring the tiny universe into a drop of water to life. Being a macro lens, it represents the ideal solution for close distances. Used as a standard lens, it takes the world in all its natural perspectives.

The stunning details in traditional and close-up portraits are the strengths of the ZEISS Milvus 2 / 50M ZEISS Makro-Planar lens. Thanks to the excellent performance in all fields, this macro lens can be used in a wide range of situations. The further optimization of the lens treatment allows to minimize ghost images and unwanted reflections, even in low light situations. The 50mm macro lens, currently the fastest, allows you to highlight even the smallest details in the foreground or background.

Extraordinary images, even in low light conditions

All lenses are equipped with the ZEISS T * anti-reflective coating. The incredible reduction of diffused light is obtained thanks to the combination of several perfectly harmonized measures. In addition to the ZEISS T * treatment, all the edges of the lenses have a lacquered black color obtained by means of a complex manual process. To avoid reflections, light traps have been integrated into the mechanical components and specially designed surfaces. Each focal length has its own optical design, thanks to the use of special glasses that allow to visualize the anomalous partial dispersion. In this way, halos are possible to an absolute minimum in the case of subjects with high contrast edges.

Future-proof solution for high resolution camera systems

The excellent performance of the ZEISS Milvus lens meets the requirements of present and future high-performance digital cameras. Thanks to the little diffused light guaranteed by the design of this lens, it is possible to take high contrast images by increasing the highly dynamic range of the sensors (HDR). Coma, astigmatism and minimal spherical aberrations allow a constant high resolution of the entire image field. The lens is designed to ensure full use of the performance offered by high resolution camera systems. No matter what the future holds, the ZEISS Milvus lens is ready for use anytime, anywhere.

Creative photos and videos thanks to manual and highly precise focus

Focusing a lens manually involves controlling and therefore actively creating an image using your fingers gently and precisely. Here, good design ergonomics makes the difference. The ZEISS Milvus lens offers a wide rotation angle which allows for pinpoint focus. The superior quality focusing mechanism moves without kickback, optimally supporting the photographer's creative interaction, with a focal plane of fixed focal lengths at high speed. The changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder or on the display. The incision in meters and feet and the focusing scale represent an additional support for manual focusing. The continuous and silent adjustment of the diaphragm (DeClick function with ZF.2 mounting) and the long focusing range establish the optimal conditions for video shooting.
