Yamaha 16-Channel AES/EBU Expansion Card for Digital Mixers

The MY16AE Mini-YGDAI Digital I/O can be used with Yamaha DM2000, 02R96, DM1000 and future digital consoles to provide up to 16 simultaneous channels of AES/EBU (25-pin D-sub) I/O via a single expansion slot.
All 16 channels can be used independently at sampling rates up to 48 kHz, or it can be used for a "dual channel" connection to 96-kHz recorders providing 8 channels of I/O at 88.2 or 96 kHz.
While the DM2000, DM1000, and 02R96 handle 96-kHz audio as standard, most digital recorders currently available can only handle 96-kHz audio in "dual channel" mode (using 2 tracks to make one).
In this configuration, the DM2000, DM1000, and 02R96 use one channel for a 96 kHz track, but you have to use twice as many I/O connections.
