The Ki Pro Ultra 12G DCI/UHD/HD Recorder and Player is a portable media recorder with a built-in 4.8" LCD screen that is well suited to location and studio recording and playback. It also supports single stream recording 4K DCI or UHD 4K, plus multiple HD streams in ProRes. Avid DNxHR and DNxHD recording is supported for a single channel in 4K or HD. Ultra 12G has one 12G-SDI input and output, as well as three 3G-SDI. SDI inputs and outputs It also features a dedicated SDI monitor output, with overlays available in the menu system, and a rotary menu selection knob with push-button VTR controls.

An integrated Ethernet connector lets you control the Ki Pro Ultra 12G via a computer and web browser, and there's a DB-9 connector for RS-422 control. The unit will easily integrate into a control room or OB van. Two AJA Pak media slots allow for endless recording as the Ki Pro will switch to empty recording media when the first AJA Pak is full. The half-rack width and two-rack height make this unit highly portable and also suitable for rack mounting with optional accessories. Redundant XLR power inputs allow for the catastrophic failure of one power source with a second as backup, so you don't miss a frame while recording.


ProRes 422 and 4444recording
The Ki Pro Ultra 12G can record your footage in DCI 4K/UHD 4K/2K/HD at six different ProRes quality levels including 4444 XQ. This allows footage to be recorded in the same codec accessible by many NLE systems, avoiding the need for transcoding before editing.

DNxHR and DNxHD
Avid's DNxHD and DNxHR codecs are also supported, and you can record directly to them in the KiPro Ultra 12G, allowing you to bring captured footage directly into your Avid editing system. It is possible to record a single channel of 4K using the DNxHR codec, and DNxHD is also limited to single channel recording.

Compatibility
You can record and playback a single 4K stream, and you can also record four HD streams simultaneously. This allows you to simultaneously capture from four different HD streams into the same codec for editing, eliminating the need for subsequent transcoding to match the source footage to the needs of the editing system.

Inputs and outputs
The Ki Pro Ultra 12G features a single 12G-SDI input and output, as well as three 3G-SDI inputs and outputs. It also features HDMI 2.0 Type-A input and output connectors, as well as a dedicated SDI monitor output. Integrated SFP cages allow you to provide optional SFP connectors, which allows the Ki Pro Ultra 12G to work with SDI over fiber.
HDR support
Ki Pro Ultra 12G provides this support for your DCI 4K/UHD 4K/HD HDR pipelines to HDMI and SDI compatible displays by generating HDR metadata in compliance with HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3 and SMPTE 352, which includes HDR 10 (PQ) and HLG for both input and output.

Support 64-channel audio
Multi-channel audio monitoring is available on the integrated display, dedicated SDI monitor output and HDMI output connector.
