The Novoflex CASTEL-MICRO electronic slide is ideal for a wide range of applications in photography, measurement and science.
CASTEL-MICRO is the solution when conventional photographic tools reach their limits.

CASTEL-MICRO is ideal for the focus stacking technique in macro photography, for example in capturing images of insects, minerals or scientific documentation, etc.
The problem is known: as the magnification factor increases - from 2:1 to 50:1 - focusing with the micrometric slide becomes almost impossible.
Furthermore, automatic functions such as focus bracketing on cameras are no longer helpful.

° STEP and PICTURE modes are fast and simple to use.
In these modes it is possible to specify either the distance between one step and another or the number of shots, depending on the magnification factor and the aperture of the lens.
The software automatically calculates the number of shots or distance between steps needed. Furthermore, you can adjust the pauses between one shot and the next.

CONTINUOUS mode is available for special applications where the camera block is in constant motion, without stopping, accelerating or decelerating.
Exposure is best with very fast shutter speeds and/or flash.

BELLOW MODE is designed for use with the CASTBAL-PRO bellows (sold separately).
It is possible to adjust both the front and rear parts.
The BELLOW mode is not only ideal for macro photography but also for photographic applications that require particular commitment, special cameras or tilt/shift lenses.
The adapter system for BALPRO allows the use of many cameras and lenses: for example it is possible to integrate high-quality mechanical lenses into a focus stacking flow.
The BELLOW mode imitates the autofocus control system of a lens in order to obtain a series of images with different focus points of the same subject.
The series of images is then processed by focus stacking software to produce an image with stunning depth of field.

* CATSEL-MICRO has a maximum excursion of 100mm and the minimum reproducible step is only 0.2µ!
The max load capacity is 4kg.

The camera is attached via an ARCA compatible Q=MOUNT quick release unit and can be rotated 90° if necessary.
In the lower part, the sled has an ARCA compatible profile along the entire length and this allows the sled to be used with compatible ARCA plates.
