Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD Lens - Nikon Z (057Z)
The 150-500mm F / 5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (Model A057), is an ultra-telephoto zoom lens dedicated to Nikon Z full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The 150-500mm F5-6.7 is TAMRON's first ultra-telephoto zoom lens dedicated to full-frame mirrorless cameras to achieve a focal length of 500mm.
Even when extended to the 500 mm telephoto end, the lens is still compact enough to allow you to take pictures comfortably handheld.
This lens allows users to take ultra-telephoto shots "on the fly" with constant performance and high image quality, a situation in which it is common opinion that it is advisable to use a tripod.
To further simplify handheld ultra-telephoto shooting, the new zoom implements the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) focusing mechanism, featuring a linear motor that offers excellent quietness and agile performance, and the Exclusive TAMRON VC (Vibration Compensation) stabilizer for high level image stabilization.
At the 150mm end, the lens offers a minimum object distance (MOD) of just 0.6m for powerful, impactful close-ups.
1. A 500mm full-frame lens that can be used hand-held, thus contradicting established beliefs The 150-500mm F5-6.7 is just 209.6mm long with a maximum diameter of 93mm, impressively compact size for a 500mm ultra-telephoto zoom designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Even when used at the maximum telephoto focal length of 500mm, the lens still remains remarkably compact, measuring only 283mm. The lens allows you to switch from 150 mm to 500 mm by rotating the zoom ring by only 75 °, less than a quarter of a turn. This allows you to quickly set the desired viewing angle with minimal movement, thus avoiding losing photographic opportunities and making image composition more intuitive. The acclaimed TAMRON VC mechanism also significantly improves handheld performance by counteracting the vibrations generated by camera movement. * For APS-C mirrorless format: focal length equivalent to approximately 225-750mm.
