Max. 1.5x magnification
The Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra Macro APO lens offers an impressive 1.5:1 magnification ratio, capturing life-size subjects in extraordinary detail.
Every texture and intricate pattern is reproduced in stunning resolution, perfect for macro photography.
With a minimum focusing distance of 30cm, this lens excels at photographing small subjects, enabling breathtaking close-ups with unparalleled clarity and precision.

Extended Working Distance
With a focal length of 180mm, the lens offers a generous minimum working distance of 147.6mm, surpassing shorter macro lenses such as 58mm or 100mm.
This increased reach gives photographers ample room for shooting and lighting settings, improving flexibility and framing precision in macro photography.
Most importantly, it reduces the possibility of subject fright.
A 180mm focal length creates a natural compression effect, making the background appear closer to the subject.
This feature offers photographers greater creative flexibility, allowing them to skillfully manipulate the perceived relationship between subject and background to achieve captivating compositions.

Compact and Lightweight Design
The lens combines powerful telephoto and macro capabilities in a remarkably compact and lightweight design, enhancing portability for photographers on the go.
Weighing just 484 g (Canon EF) and 522 g (Sony E) and measuring Ø67.6 mm x 88.4 mm and Ø67.6 mm x 134.4 mm respectively, it stands out as one of the smallest and lightest options in its class.
This makes it the ideal choice for professionals and enthusiasts seeking high performance without the bulk of similar lenses.

Apochromatic Optical Design
The lens is designed with an apochromatic (APO) design to eliminate both longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberrations in both in-focus and out-of-focus areas.
This advanced optical design ensures exceptional sharpness and color accuracy, delivering crisp, vibrant images with true-to-life colors and minimal fringing, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Exceptional Sharpness
The Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5X Ultra Macro APO delivers exceptional corner-to-corner sharpness, even at high magnifications, for stunning image quality.
Featuring an advanced optical design with 12 elements in 9 groups, it delivers consistent, razor-sharp performance for macro photography.
This configuration excels at capturing subjects in extreme detail, making it ideal for complex close-ups and professional-level results across the entire frame.

Focusing
It offers autofocus (AF) functionality for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Canon EF mounts, enabling precise focus on subjects from 1.5 m to infinity.
To activate AF mode, simply rotate the focus ring to the infinity point.
For Canon RF users, the EF lens can be paired with an EF-to-RF adapter to enable AF.

f4.5 Aperture
The Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5X Ultra Macro APO is designed with an f/4.5 aperture to achieve an optimal balance between a 180mm telephoto focal length, 1.5X ultra-macro magnification, and an impressively compact size.
Prioritizing a compact and lightweight design without sacrificing exceptional sharpness, the f/4.5 aperture ensures versatile performance for photographers seeking a high-magnification macro lens that is also practical for handheld and field use.
