Beyond Full Frame coverage
The generous coverage circle (Ø 44.71 mm) reduces vignetting improving image quality and allowing optimal use of resolution, avoiding cropping, provides optimal coverage for the very popular ARRI Alexa LF 4.5K Open Gate (44.71 mm).
The 44.71mm coverage circle covers full-frame sensors in 16:9, 3:2 and 4:3 formats, allowing for easy output of 2:1, 2.25:1, 2.66:1 and 2.4:1 while maintaining image quality.
Constant 1.5x compression ratio
With a 1.5x compression ratio, the Laowa Nanomorph achieves a 2.66:1 aspect ratio on a 16:9 sensor after decompression, delivering a much more pronounced anamorphic and cinematic image than a 1.33x anamorphic lens.
Consistent bokeh from center to edges
Some anamorphic lenses change the shape of the bokeh from the center to the edges of the frame, sometimes taking on a "moon" appearance, which can be distracting.
In contrast, Nanomorph LF offers smoother bokeh across the entire frame.
Smooth transition from focus to out of focus
The aperture range extends from T2.9 to T22, allowing you to shoot in all lighting conditions and meet the dynamic demands of on-set production.
Incredible depth of field is possible even when wide open, the lenses create a smooth transition from in-focus areas to out-of-focus backgrounds, one of the most sought-after anamorphic characteristics in the film industry.
Exceptional image quality
The impressive sharpness and contrast of this lens group make it extremely versatile for various production needs, matching the performance of modern sensors. Even when used wide open, the image remains sharp and pristine.
For those seeking a vintage look, the lenses offer a wide flexibility for adjustments in post-production or combination with filters, allowing directors and DOPs to explore their long-term creative vision.
Great flexibility in composition
Many anamorphic lenses on the market have a deformation of size and shape near the edges of the frame, causing for example, "swimming effect").
This limits the creative freedom of the cinematographer in composition.
In contrast, Nanomorph LF lenses offer excellent control over performance.
Reduced focus breathing
Reduced focus breathing ensures constant framing and a stable field of view when changing the focus point, minimizing distractions and maintaining precise compositions, for more natural and professional images.
Precise focus
The long travel of the focus ring (270°) allows precise adjustments of the focus, improving control over the depth of field.
It offers smooth transitions when changing focus.
