The Laowa 12mm Cine is currently the widest t/2.9 lens to cover both Full Frame and Vista Vision formats, making it an ideal wide-angle lens for both professional video cameras and mirrorless cameras.

The coverage circle allows photographers to use both Full Frame sensors (dimensions = 43.14mm) as well as the RED Monstro Vista Vision sensors and the Arri Alexa LF sensor (dimensions @ open gate = 44.7mm).
This lens is also ideal for Super35mm users thanks to its 17mm-equivalent angle of view.

Compact and lightweight
This 12mm lens is extremely compact despite its extreme specifications. It measures 87mm in length and weighs only 675g.
It can easily be adapted to any type of stabilizer, including handheld gimbals.

Approximately zero distortion
The optical distortion of extreme wide-angle lenses will never again be a nightmare for photographers.
The distortion ratio of quality wide-angle lenses on the market ranges from 2 to 4%.

Extremely short focusing distance
The Laowa 12mm can focus at an extremely short distance, just 18cm from the sensor (about 10cm from the front element).
Ultra-wide-angle lenses typically create a flat image with a large depth of field, but thanks to its close focusing capability and brightness, the Laowa 12mm can create a shallow depth of field look and a pleasing bokeh effect.

Sturdy professional cinema body
Designed with standard 0.8 rings for both focus and aperture control for easy use on follow focus systems.
A 270° ring is designed for additional fine focus control.
The entire lens body is made of aluminum alloy.
An adapter ring is included to expand the front screw diameter up to 114mm, the standard matte box diameter.
Venus Optics has tested many matte boxes on the market, and once mounted, vignetting is not seen with VV sensors.
